About the Area
Baleal is 5 mins from Peniche, it’s renowned for its beautiful beaches, ideal for relaxation and surfing… below are all the things you can look forward to outside of LTV sessions and planned surf lessons 🙂
Fun things to do based on different days:
- Sunday night, live music and BBQ at Boske… this is an outdoor picnic area where they have a big BBQ, pulled pork sandwiches and plattesr (the food here is great and live music… nice vibes)
- Saturday morning/afternoon, go to Backyard, there is a market vibe with locals/expats cooking food,
Coffee (all Baleal based)
Sol - great specialty coffee & amazing food for lunch
Marquito - Best for coffee & pastries (get the Swiss roll with chocolate - omg devine)
Hang Five - Sometimes has concerts, cool shop with coffee
Hiking and Walking (Baleal - much nicer than Peniche)
- Baleal Island Walk: This short but beautiful walk around the island is a must-do… it’s only about 20 mins and really pretty!
- Cliff Walk from Baleal to Almagreira: A scenic walk along the top of the cliffs with stunning ocean views. Here is the start of the walk, you can walk to Almagreira here, the views are amazing (see pic below)
In Peniche:
- Make sure to visit Peniche's Old Town (so cute…great at sunset)
